| Entry criteria |
| |
Your business must meet the following criteria to be eligible for entry:
- Businesses that apply must have generated revenues for at least 2 years
by 31 December 2009
- Have had revenues of at least £1 million in their last 12 months' trading
- Have fewer than 500 employees at 31 December 2009
- Companies must be UK based (Except when entering the International
Business of the Year category)
In addition the judges will be looking for the following:
- Entrants must demonstrate quantifiable evidence of growth and success. Specifically, this will involve submitting amounts and percentage increases in turnover and profits as well as employee numbers over the most recent three year period
- Where entrants are not yet turning profit, an explanation of why this is the case will be required along with supporting reasons and evidence of when profits will be achieved
- Evidence of USPs relating to the category entered
- Evidence of improved market share
- Evidence of customer satisfaction with the product or service
- Evidence of a successful launch or a continued programme of product or service development
Exceptions to the above
Financial Director of the year and Female entrepreneur of the Year categories that will be won by an individual not a business.

The entry fee is £35 (+VAT)
